PRODUCT UPDATES AND ENHANCEMENTS | AI-powered slide generation and formula assistant come to Gemini in Looker | Today's business intelligence offerings are rapidly transforming into powerful, generative AI-driven data analysis tools that can be accessed by all members of your organization. As part of that transformation, we are bringing two key features of Gemini in Looker to preview: automated Google Slides generation, and an AI-powered formula assistant that can speed how you analyze and engage with your data. | | New Excel connector for Looker Studio in Preview | We are introducing a new first party Excel connector, which enables analysts to directly connect to Excel files, removing the need to converting Excel files to Google Sheets or CSV files. In this release, analysts will be able to upload Excel files from their local storage, and then be able to connect to a specific worksheet, data table or specify a range for their data. | | Looker's Chart Config Editor now supports the following pie chart legend properties: align, verticalAlign, and layout. | You can use the Looker Chart Config Editor to customize formatting options on visualizations that use the HighCharts API. This includes most Cartesian charts, such as the column chart, bar chart, and line chart, among others. | | New Explore from Here icon in Looker | A new Explore from Here icon now appears on Looker dashboard tiles and lets dashboard viewers explore a tile's data in one click. | | See the latest updates from our Help Center for Looker Studio here, and for Looker here. | |

| Video: Looker's semantic layer provides a single source of truth | Many businesses find it difficult to make use of their data due to data chaos and a lacking single source of truth. Looker's semantic layer helps unify key business metrics and definitions, enabling everyone in your organization to explore, analyze and make data-driven decisions. | | Understanding BigQuery data canvas: how to easily transform data into insights with AI | BigQuery data canvas leverages natural language processing to let you ask questions about your data in plain English and various other languages. This intuitive approach eliminates the need to build out complex SQL queries, making data analysis accessible to both technical and non-technical users. | | Discover a brand new catalog experience in Dataplex, now generally available | Faced with ever-expanding volumes and types of data, organizations increasingly need a central catalog for their data assets. Dataplex Catalog, Google Cloud's next-generation data asset inventory platform, provides a unified inventory for all your metadata, whether your resources are in Google Cloud or on-premises, and it's now generally available. | | |
